    Some flight info.

I fly from Stansted to Bilbao on Easyjet.

They are now taking bookings for July 2014.

I have booked and it cost £244 ( £54 for the rifle transit, £12 for insurance and £31 for luggage)

From experience Easyjet flights tend to get more expensive closer to the date. However, they do occasionally have sales.

    Hope this helps

    Shaun

I noticed also that easy jet have closed the loophole on their sports luggage do its a max of 32kg total for the lot. With peli cases that doesn't leave much overhead. I believe you can add more though but it does cost.

Ferry isn't cheap but worth thinking about. Portsmouth to Bilbao or Santander is looking at around £600 for 2-3 and the car. For me portsmouth is only 30-60 mins away and it means no need for a hire car the other side. I can get out on the Wednesday and back Tuesday.
    How much is the hotel?

Does that £600 include a cabin Rob? Cheapest I've found with a cabin both ways is about £800 for 3 people + car

Could work cheaper to fly and hire a mini bus. Count me in!
One of the best shoots on the calendar.

Put gun on licence on your name. You supervise him during the shoot. Simple.
    Bilbao airport.
Zumarraga is the town the shoot is located.

    Just checked. No :(

So add £300 to that. So yes £800 for 3 people. Touch and go between that and flying.

Comes down to car hire, parking at airport and fuel to airport and back for me. Parking and fuel is probably around £100. So depends what car hire is like other side.

That could be offset a bit though by needing a room an extra night.

Certainly looks like we need a 3rd to make the ferry worth a look.

The plus side for the Ferry is it'll be a good laugh and it's nice and relaxed

LD Lines have just launched a ferry service from Poole to Santander.

The good news. It takes roughly same amount of time as the other ferries. And they are doing a car + 2 people and cabin for £399.

The bad news is, it leaves Tuesdays midday and gets in Weds 3pm... and leaves Spain on either Sunday at 6 pm or Thursday at midday, to get you into blighty for 7pm.

So it's cheap, but means you'd lose out with hotel costs... or you'd have to leave Sunday midday/mid afternoon... which from memory isn't going to wash.

But it might be of interest for those wanting to spend a few days either side of the shoot.

I assume return... Because if not its more expensive than one way with 3 people and a 4 berth room.
