Firstly a huge Congratulations to Theresa Reed on becoming the English Open Champion. Shoot off between Theresa and Rudy Goldslade who both finished on 55. Theresa showed how it’s done by knocking all 3 targets over.
A big thank you to all the Ellis family, Jason, Katy, Thomas & Jess, for letting Misfits use their land at North Luffenham for the English Open. This was the first time a HFT competition had been held there, so it was a level playing field for all.
Three days of cutting, chopping and clearing and we’d got a HFT course that almost brought grown men to tears. The wind was blowing from the left, no the right, no it’s from the front, oh I really don’t know now!
Congratulations to all the trophy winners, you just about had the wind sussed.
Thank you to all course setters and marshals, there was a few trips across the river for David Nicholls. Thank you to everyone who helped pull in the course at the end.

Well done Theresa, and well done Greg Hensman and the Misfits, swine of a course. Just shows that a wind doesn't have to be ferocious to have such an effect. A good place for an hft course.

Thanks to the Misfits team, I thoroughly enjoyed that course, it was clear you guys had put a huge amount of work and thought into today. You're all a credit to our sport.

Nice to see spectators too - it's good to promote HFT.

Bob Clay - it was a pleasure shooting with you Sir!

Mick - a pleasure too mate. Good to have caught up with you.

    Can we play here again?

Thank you, the Ellis family for the the venue and all the support and help in creating the course. It is very much appreciated, congratulations to Tom Ellis the .22 English open winner.

A real pleasure shooting with Alex & Jason, the banter was excellent, I would shoot with you chaps anytime, anywhere. Thank you.

Theresa Reed, great score given the wind, a masterclass in the shoot off. I hope someone got it on film.

To the rest of the Misfits, thanks for all the hard work to make it a very special day.

Big thank you to all the course setters can see even with the help of the farmer you must have had a huge amount of work to do. Enjoyed the course immensely.

Well done to Theresa a true champion clinical shoot off.

Yep the strings that werent pegged down were hard to read but they were the same for everyone.

Well done Misfits look forward to shooting there again.

    ,

Nowt to do with the strings pegged down mate , that's a good move for some targets rather that than one being pulled up in someone else kill zone , as said ,really well done course ( for what my opinions worth ) I thought but peg 15 got pulled a few times coz the string broke , a few targets were really difficult to pull up just coz the elasticity, ask Rob B aka black hawk down what he did at the worlds , all of us were on a ceasefire looking at the helicopter for about 10 mins ., Rog got down said the kill zone looked a strange shape pulled 2 yds of elastic back over his head , thought the target was up and proceeded to shoot it straight through the kz , hey presto one doughnut , just a bit of feedback gents, certainly not a complaint , I would never do that , to much hard work and goodwill goes into these club events and everyone enjoys them on that basis ,
Damn good do and superb location, I will look forward to shooting there again as well

Vinny I missed a comma out but I thought "werent" was easy enough to read.

Meant the way they performed different than the normal type strings for windicating. Like when dropped they retracted in and made iteasy for me to make yet another wrong decision.

Thank you to the Misfits and the Ellis family for putting on a truly awesome competition!

Well done Theresa on your overall win, expertly done in the shoot off. Well done to all the other winners, well deserved!

Thanks to Jessica and Ian for the banter and fun round the course. Not forgetting Vinny for the lift, and Mike A for the travelling company too.

Hope this will be the first of many shoots at the Ellis farm, great place to be and to make you think! :eek:o As was said, it didn't need much wind to mess with the decision making!!
