Just over 2 weeks to go now until the regions Winter League starts again.

1st round is starting on the Isle of Wight and details of location are here .

Will be a mixture of open field and woodland. About half the course has been planned and clearing / tidying has been started and will be an interesting layout with direction changes and a 15mm target in there as well as per the rules.

Hoping for a dry day so see you there. Tea, coffee and hopefully cakes :D

Checked out what some of the club members did last week for target locations and apart from a couple of changes looking good.

However checked the MetCheck weather for next week and they are forecasting 30mph wind  Ahh well the typical IoW wind will be returning by the looks of it. Seems to be either calm and deciving like Bisley can be or blowing a gale where you try to decide how many kills you should be aiming off

Might mean a couple of changes to some lanes but will have to see on te day before.

I'll bring the nail clippers for the finishing touches to the course :D

You should not need them I hope Rob, got a team of about 7 who have been stripping all the paint of the targets, greasing them, repainting and clearing various bits and pieces. Might need a small incinerator going on Sunday to burn some of it.

Will also be looking to see what we can come up with different this year, barrel in the tree last Winter but not sure what to do this year.

Course I think will be mediumly difficult and if the wind comes out to play then it will get more difficult.

At the Masters on Saturday so will catch up with you all then.

16 and a half lanes finsihed yesterday and all targets cleaned, greased and sprayed.

Only 1 issue with a target was told it was under 55yds but even to my eye was looking further. Results of my query was tape measure out. Result target moved closer as measured at 194ft (nearly 64yds) .

Hoping for dry weather with a slight breeze and if Countryfile weatehr forecast is right then it should be.

There will be a BBQ going if weather OK and cakes are a definate :D

    Looking good Andy.

I couldn t remember if stop watches are used during the winter league shoots, so looked on the CSFTA web site and they are.

Is it best if we bring our own or do you have enough?

    Cheers,
    Justin

Best bring your own Justin unless Andy or Mick have a 'stash' somewhere.

Makes note to self - search for stopwatches on internet.

They are supposed to be, but it tends to die when someone forgets to bring them. I'll be timing myself anyway :)
