There seems to be a good level of interest to sort this . Speaking to the Sefta crew it was suggested a 2 leg match , Feb 2nd at Newbury and Feb 23rd at Springfield .
    What do you think?

I guess it depends on Newbury first.

Umm - Feb 2nd is down for the regular CSFTA WL . So if you want to overlay another competition on top it means deciding some rules ahead of time. Which depends on numbers for each group.

I suspect the Winter weather is the Great Unknown at that time of year for either date or location (and willingness therefore to travel).

Any thoughts about changing the format of the CSFTA Showdown? maybe make it an Open and mix in a bit of CS vs SE spice :)

I don't think a rule change is required for a "Friendly" challenge, after all we all belong to BFTA

For the dates Cliffy suggested, CSFTA turn up an shoot at Newbury as per our CSFTA winter league date. The SEFTA guys turn up as visitors and shoot. For the SEFTA home leg, which is one of their WL datess, the CSFTA guys are just visitors.

The regional winners would be from the combined score cards from both dates. The emphasis should be starting up some new competition:D:D

I'm with Alex, all about getting more shooters at a comp with the added incentive of a CSFTA v SEFTA element thrown in.

Hope we can make this happen.

Hi - I am not suggesting any rules along BFTA Main Shoot Rules. I was just thinking about such as
How many to count? (number of visitors that show up? 10? 20?)
Do we use the CSFTA Team examples of 1 extra point for top score, +0 for AA, +1 for A, +2 for B, +3 for C

But basically down to the team captains :)

    Why not use everyone's score?

Using NeilL's point, of low numbers turning up at an "Away" leg due to poor weather could detract from the concept, but if all scores were to count it may also give the little guys a chance of helping their region along.
Lets get some fun back into the sport too.

If all scores counting then that's around 35 from csfta that averagly turn up to a WL against the handful (as I don't see 30+ turning up unless im wrong) for SEFTA.

about 31 sefta shooters werre at ETL yesterday;)

Wafta V swefta (Least it was) is unlimited numbers attend, but only top 10 (i think) scores count for each side.

Think Frayed knot Mfta v nefta is top 20 each side.

I was expecting an imbalance of "Away" attendees, but that should balance out over the two fixtures.

And i can vouch for a well attended WL for CSFTA and SEFTA, as I've done both comps so far this series.

Why not count the number of shooters based on the lowest turn out for either side.

So if SEFTA have 20 shooters and CSFTA have 26 then you count the top 20 scores from each team.

    Csfta v Sefta

Some great feedback and suggestions. I think the next step is for the Sefta shooters to contact Keith ( comp sec) and let him know if you can make the dates.
Csfta shooters can contact me . We can then sort out numbers and format.

Up for discussion, how about replacing the showdown with the CSFTA vs SEFTA...? I suppose we could still do two dates, one at one end, one at the other... or swap each year?

Think the will is there, so lets find a way. Think there'll be more chat about it at the Bucc's round... then I guess it will be something for the AGM, hopefully before xmas.

    Yep up for this.

I think at least the CSFTA round should fall inline when the IOW crew will be over anyway, they deserve to be involved and shouldn t really have to make a special trip with the ferry costs involved.

If they choose to also make a trip over for the SEFTA round then good on them.
