CSFTA FT Winter League Rd 5 @ Wendover
Rescheduled due to bad weather on the 8th
Club info here
Quick bump... see ya there
Weather is looking fine with a light breeze. I think that with that sort of wind it could be Bisley weather if we are in the trees, you know the type do you go down the middle, edge of kill or outside and whatever you choose is wrong.
Going to be one of the longest journeys for me about 2 hrs of driving so will be there around the 10-30 mark unless I put my foot down.
Csfta ft wendover
Course all set, Targets up trees, down banks, and across the dreaded range! Good zero range out.
Burger Van will be on site tomorrow.
Hope to see you all tomorrow
CGC will have a team up there tomorrow
Top day out , big thank to Big Dave Steve L top course and the wind made it a good day out with some thing to think about all the time .
Yep, likewise... a course where every target needed thinking about, all thriller, no filler, and it showed you don't need it to be 45+ all the time to have a tough course if placement is thought about.
Nice shooting Dave and Steve... think you both need to get some rangefinding scopes as soon as possible, clearly those 10x's are giving you a hell of an advantage
A classic winter league shoot today, everything thrown a you. High targets, down banks, changes of direction, feet in difficult positions and a wind that made getting right head scratching everything from nothing to 3 kills worth even on the same lane.
All those at Wendover can be proud of a course layout that proved you do not need a lot of long targets to make day interesting.
Glad you all enjoyed it,couldn't have hoped for better weather. Not sure what you meen about the wind, only had to aim out of kill 3 times and one of those was one i missed as it went straight.Hope the wind comes back for the HFT next week.
Dave, clearly you were not on the same planet today as your score demonstrated..!
I think there was 3 non-positionals that I took cleanly inside the kill... a lot were sneakily snuck down the edge because I just couldn't decide if it would take it or not, and I had to go to the nose of the Rat at 55 to take that. I missed plate on the 45yd stander, having watched James miss plate on both attempts at it... 3 of my other misses were 45 yders where they took more than expected, sometimes more than the 50+ yd'ers in the same lane. I was fooled by their more elevated positions... no other reason for it.
Good course, good test. Would like an excuse to come back for more there... reckon that's quite a good ground for honing the skills.
By my reckoning, Tim Goodall has an 8 shot lead over anyone... and nothing under 90% + 2 wins to go into the last round... so who invited him this year?
Hate to tell you this mate but that 45 yard stander was only 38 yard's. then you've got to knock at least 5 yard's off the range on high target's if the wind is coming off the road.Your more than welcome to come to the HFT next week.
Shshh..! i was trying to make it seem better as to why i missed plate

Only got 86% at your shoot. The local lad made sure of that
Great course today, wish it was a big enough ground to host a GP.
See you'll at Weston Woods in 2 weeks
