Anyone managed to successfully remove the integral front flip cover on a 32mm mtc connect? (Without snapping it off!) I'm wanting to fit a piece of tube as a sunshade but it would be a lot easier without the little hinge part that sticks out to the side.

Still leaves the lugs protruding which would hinder fitting sunshade tube though

Frank I need to remove the whole assembly if possible so as to lose the hinge housing that sticks out the side of the scope tube. That way I can slide a piece of carbon tube over the end to act as a sunshade.

Push out the hinge pin and sand off or file off the hinge pin lugs

I've just took mine off, just used a very small flat head screwdriver, push into the slot and turn the locking ring. The ring and the flip cover just drop out once unscrewed.
Just need to find a suitable cardboard tube now.

For the once in all last year that I did shoot from the other side of the peg, I had to just put up with it.
