All of the above, but also it's nice to do something that completely absorbs as well... i find it quite relaxing (for the most part) to just have to deal with the simplicities of me, the rifle and a target.

The social side of HFT is fantastic, however, I am not going to drive a 500 mile round trip just for the hell of it and to have a nice chat with me mates.

I am going there to win or at least do the very best that I can do. I realised at the end of last year that I was OK at HFT. This is why I decided to change my kit and really start to practice hard. I am currently shooting 3 tins of pellets a week and luckily it is starting to work.

I still have fun, but for me the social side is not enough anymore and being OK will never win you a UKAHFT championship.

I think " qualifying " should be added to the list... that don't get any easier each year!

For the fun and for the challenge. If I won it wouldnt change my life, but simply being there and shooting with everyone who I class as freinds enriches my life.

My reasons for shooting comps depends on the day - and that's often reflected in the score!

Tis a real shame that a very small minority seem to try and win by any means possible, you know who you are

You say you are currently shooting 3 tins of pellets to improve your shooting but I would like some more info such as the following.

    (A) What distance do you put the 3 tins out at :D
    (B) How many shots does it take you to hit the tins :D:D
    (C) Do you call a tin if it does not fall over :D:D:D
    (D) On any called tins, how many were found to be faulty :D:D:D:D

YEP I love the BANTER on a shoot, it makes the day much more enjoyable:cool:
