Just want to see if one would fit, so I took some measurements yesterday and made a quick 3D printed model of one, but.....

I forgot to take a measurement of the "Flat mounting plate"
Could some kind person please let me know the width/length and depth of one please?

(I know I can email Rowan, but it's Bank Holiday Monday and they're not open)

    Thanks
    Bri

    Hi Chaps

Thanks for coming back to me Rob, sorry been watching the snooker.

It's the flat plate dimensions I'm looking for though.. my guess would be about 55mm long by about 30mm wide by about 8mm deep, it can't be 13mm wide Rob, that must the be accessory rail fitting you've got?

It's shaped like a bone, and has a hole in each of the 4 corners plus 3 holes down the middle.

I just want to see if there's enough wood in my stock to be able to sink it in.. from the 3D model I've made I think I can but it'll be tight - Warren probably won't want to risk doing it for me so I'll have to get the dremel out :D

I've just thrown together a 3D print version of it (just so I can see if it'll fit) but it's surprisingly strong!.

I'm starting to wonder if I could just 3D print my own and save myself a packet. I might have a play around with some designs.. I'm thinking that instead of the mechanism that Rowan use (the notches), I could just make them gear wheels.. hmm... I wonder if that would work.

Only criticism I've heard of the Rowan was that when you unlock it flops everywhere. I'd almost prefer 3-5 distinct settings that held fast or at least firm during adjustment. The hamster that Andras uses comes to mind.

Mine doesn't... it clicks around so it has resistance... the lock just locks it... but it still clicks bit by bit.

My requirement is a bit different from most people's I should imagine.

The hamster on my rifle doesn't usually touch any part of my body, it's just there for eye candy :)
The stock is a bit deep for me on standers though, so what I'm thinking is if I hinge the rowan hamster at the front I can just let it drop out of the way for standing shots.

It might also come in handy for those occasional anti-aircraft shots, but I wouldn't be adjusting it often round a course.

The one I looked at and measured on Sunday didn't flop anywhere though, in fact it was quite stiff to move

I've got a Rowan gift voucher burning a hole in my pocket and nothing else I can think of that I want at the moment.

    Hi Casey,
I have two Rowan knee risers and neither one flops around when loose. Great product-so easy to use! Maybe you can check it out at the Western States this August.

Got the measurements from Rowan now.

If anyone else wants to know - they're 52mm long, but 30mm wide (at the corners) and 6.3mm deep.

My guess wasn't far off :)

    Rowan hamster and P70FT

Will the Rowan fit the accessory rail on the P70 aluminum stock? Their rail is kind of oddly shaped.
