You dont want any more than a 10 fps spread, my MK 4 is doing around a 6 fps spread. In contrast, my new Steyr 110 is doing 10 fps spread and there are no issues with accuracy......unless its me of course. M

Adding to the info on velocity variation:
I found that in my Steyr LG110 and Walther Dominator the spread in velocity was reduced by respectively 7 and 8 fps (between 2 series of 25 test shots) when I selected the pellets (JSB Exact 8.4) for weight. The selected pellets were within 0,008 gram or 0,12 grain.

So the weight differences between pellets can cause a variation of 7 fps.
That means a measured 7 fps spread may mean that the rifle itself has no spread at all! Good news fot the Mk4. :)

my walther was doing 1 fps variation with sized pellets, but it now seems the last batch don't like sizing (suspect something has changed in the tail design)... that was only with a handful of shots mind.

I found weighing helped drop it from 20 or so, down to about 12, then sizing dropped it lower again still to single figures.

But what also helped was constent chrono which isn't affected by light.

    My zenith

With unweighed pellets. I'm getting a variation of 10-12 fps

With weighed pellets 8.30-8.49, I'm getting 3-5 fps.
I've had a string of 8-10 shots go through the chrono the same when testing at home often..
