Whats the easiest to fit butt hook for the steyr 110 ft?
Ive had 3 fitted to mine
1) Anschutz 4765
2) Mec Free Postition
3) System Gemini
All come with a guide plate of some kind which just bolts to the back plate of the Steyr easily, the cheapest was probably the Anschutz and Mec but the Gemini is best for fit as its so adjustable but does cost quite a bit more, Hope this helps.
If i wanted to fit a 4765, would i need the carrier plate as well?
No the bar would suffice, the mec needs the carrier plate as does the gemini, but the anschutz you just need the bar, you can use the plate tho too.
Thanks very much.
Do you have an URL for the Gemini?
Do you judge the Steyr original to be far less useful than the three models you quoted? That is, is the difference very large?
G & E Return is a modified copy of the old Anschutz and is superb! Easily fitted.
Try here http://www.intershoot.co.uk/acatalog/HPS-System-Gemini-Activ-Free-Rifle-Buttplate-133.html ive only ever had the standard steyr pad without the bar so i found it relatively useless for FT much prefer one of the three hook assemblies ive mentioned above.
Ive got the new (2012 longer version)110 FT and ive got the System Gemini fitted. It simply bolts onto the bar which slides in and out of the rear stock. A simple fit that takes five minutes. The standard hook supplied with the new rifle is ok but very limited in adjust-ability compared to the Gemini. Ive also tried the Anschutz 4765 which i didn't get on with when fitted to the Steyr, it works fine on my FWB P70 though.
