    Hi everyone.
I am interested to know what breathing techniques people use when shooting, I tend to find that I am holding too long at which point I start to wander off target then start tensing up. I know I should relax more but very difficult to put into practice.
    Many Thanks Keith

there's a natural pause between the lungs exhaling and inhaling... where as inhaling immediately triggers an exhale. Emptier lungs use less muscle, rather than holding your breath. Diaphragmatic breathing is a good technique.

But if you're wandering off then your position sounds like it could do with work. A good position you can take a breath in and although the POI will wander off it will come back each cycle.

What I was taught when cartridge pistols were legal-

Take a deep breath to fill the lungs and enrich the blood with oxygen.

Exhale then take a normal breath, gently exhale then hold breath while squeezing the trigger gently.

The same technique works for rifle shooting.

Would be interested in seeing an air pistol loading that fast to start with.

    Howdo

Howdo . you have to mix breathing in with your trigger control . shooting over the knee this is what i do . first get your breathing right as soon as you sit down . deep even breaths whilst studying the target in through the nose out through the mouth . natural aligment correct , range finding done . turret adjusted , aim point worked out . when on the target as you breathe , your sights will rise and fall , usually going down left as you breath out and up right as you breath in . so for a centre hit , no wind . breath out , sights go down left . breath in , sights go up right . take up the first stage of the trigger . breath out halfway , sights in the middle of the kill . last look at the windicator, out of the left eye , steady squeeze . if you have over travel on the trigger adjustment . set it short , so that you hold the trigger in as you watch the pellet through the scope till it hits the target . good follow through is esential to marksman ship . luck mate and good shooting . ??? HOLLY:)
