Would just like to say thank you to the Bisley club for a very challenging long course with a wind that had a mind of its own.

Think that Justin shot a 37  might fine shooting in the conditions.

It was good to see Holly and the other CSFTA shooters . I think Holly found out today out that ft if you leave it to long is a cruel mistress.
    See you at Buccanners

My1st shoot with the proper set up taught me one thing.... FT is NOT easier than HFT & anyone that says so has never shot FT, haha.
Thanks Bisley for a tough lesson in FT shooting, at least I have something to attempt to beat now  ;)
Thanks for going round with me Graham.
Hope to see you at Southampton.

Glad you enjoyed it, Steve. See you at Southampton.

Scores are up.. BUT.... I think I must have used an old file at some point because a couple of peoples grades don't line up all through the different tabs / shoots, doesn't affect the team positions and I will sort as soon as.

    Alan.

No worries, I will put him in when I correct the odd grading error.

Can't put him in the team though as teams were named at round 1.

Thanks to the guys and girls at Bisley. Today was a toughie. All was going well until some school boy errors caught me off guard, then I fell apart quicker than a Chinese motorcycle.

Many thanks to Bisley - very enjoyable day. Sun shining and plenty of different winds to choose from …. clouds moving, gusts, over the shoulder and the one which the pellet chose to go with … some tricky kneelers too!

Thanks Alan! speedy scores update :)

    Cheers

Thanks to all at Bisley for a good shoot, very tough wind to work out, too tough for me, but enjoyed the shoot.

Your welcome Steve, maybe see you at ETL next week.

    Oh Yeah

We have not yet begun to fight cliffy . a good day with some good people . got some food for thought . new rifle , old scope ( just bought it back ) . course was a good a hard course ( maybe just a bit to hard ) . only problem with it was the middle . back forward , back forward , till i was dizzy went the wind . high point was the eastern end . the 55 yarder on the side of the tree . I missed that one in the GP . recognised it straight away . gave dead centre and watched it sail down the range and knock the booger over . kneelers good standers , well not quiet so good . cliffy is a long way ahead at the mo . BUT will he stay there when the pressure starts to mount . or will his old bottom go . watch this space for more exciting details from the buccaneers . ??? HOLLY:eek:

    PS let her Rippppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp:):D

PSS red face , still got my card in my pocket . still i am a new boy .

Speaking to Rob about central southern . Rob was saying that the avowed intention of the area was to win the regionals . excellent idea , but not easy . now the area has moved up to 40 targets and and to a shotgun start i believe ( though not yet ) one of the things that might help is to put shooters together instead of letting em choose there partners . if you put the top scorers from previous rounds together . this increases the pressure on them to do well against the other top shots . getting them used to the pressure of top flight competion and hope fully enchancing there skills long term . so the top two from last round on lane one . next two on lane two and so on down the line . this sets up a pecking order as well . IE lane 15 are you mate , Your Finished Mate and so on . just an idea ??? HOLLY:)

PS obviously the comp area sec makes the decisions as who goes where .

Good to have you and some of the other SEFTA guys and girls in the CSFTA region now Holly - Welcome! :)

All ideas are good ideas I say!

We have had x40 shot courses for a while now, but yes the shotgun start and stop watches are new for this year.

I personally have no issues with your suggestion about shooting partners, why not it all adds to the competitive edge doesn t it. The only down side is that if you do take say for example the top two shooters from the last comp they actually shoot in the same winter league Team.

Would this be questioned by the other Teams??

    Cheers,
    Justin

Yes - mixing partners between clubs is good for socialising. I'm not worried about any other reason but FT is a fun sport and it is always good to learn new curses as the course unwinds :)

Pairing up the top shots may or may not make them better comp shooters but it isn't going to help your new shooters progress.

One of the great things about the NEFTA winter league is that you have no idea who you will be on a lane with - a new shooter could find himself on a lane with an ex (or current :) ) world champ. Not many sports that can boast that ;)

    Dave.
