Surely Steve's butt hook can't be legal - it looks like it's giving him an unfair advantage with all that extra support.
Yeh, ban em i say...
how far down the shin
1 The position.
Only the Rear Foot, the Front Foot, the Knee and/or the Shin may contact the ground.
The Knee and/or Shin may be protected from the ground by use of a Bean Bag. If a Bean Bag is
used as such then either;
Just clarify, although in the pics the shooters knee is approx. mid point on the bag, the proposal would allow a shooter to move the bag further down the shin, to protect the shin?
Can't seem to see them on the BFTA site , is it an I Pad thing or an age thing
No it wouldn't. The bag must be directly under the knee. If it's slid back then it's not directly under the knee. It's directly under the shin.
Forget the last comment ....it was an age thing or the painkillers
Very minimal, OS X and Chrome - can't see anything
What do the words say?
If you go to the Documents then Rules & Regs you will get to
Click on the appropriate links and you can either view them or download, etc
However - the above URL could change so never rely on it being correct and so forth.
Rob's text is precise.
Oh aye, why not post them in the article?
Just thinking outside the box
But the wording in the proposal as quoted, to me allows shooters to use the bag to protect the shin.
I think some extra wording in the written rules is needed (ie knee must be no further than mid point of the bag ) otherwise people are going to say, I am protecting my shin, as voted on by regional reps?
For the reasons that Neil states. If the URL changes because the site changes then the link is lost. But by following the text you will find what you are looking for
Directly under the knee Si. That's in there. You protect your shin by placing the bag directly under the knee. That's why there are pictures, so that one can see that sliding it back is not directly under the knee.
People can say what they like. The images have been accepted by the comp sec and published
By all means if you think it can be improved on, send it up the chain.
So what your proposal perhaps could have said, least to my way of understanding it is "the Knee can be no further than edge to mid point of the bag"
just want to be clear on how we marshall our fellow shin shooters.
Or the bag must be central under the knee...? Dunno. For the moment it is what it is and the pictures are there to ease understanding and to say what is meant for a common set of circumstances.
It comes from the old verse, the bag is there to support the shin, or protect the knee. So the new rule was arranged around that, not both
Just seemed odd there was no hot link or images Rob, no big deal.
No worries No big deal meant Apologies if it came across that way.
It also helps point people to where there info is, should it change later. Also if the BFTA's shooters get the idea where the info is, then they may look at other things. The temptation in this wonderful world of digital immediacy is not to look beyond what's presented up front. As ever, this place is just some internet site somewhere. The BFTA site is the official one.
Here we go again
