Cracking set of pics Rob, just a pity there is now way of showing just how much wind there was in the field!

As for the rain, I was sooooo tempted to burst into my rendition on ELO's Mr Blue Sky as I sat down into a pool of cold water that i once was pleased to call my shooting cushion!

A great day though with great company (hope your back's better Dave!) And see you all again soon!

I'd just like to say well done to everyone who turned up and braved the awful conditions.
We'd got nearly as wet on Saturday putting the targets out, so it was good to see 99% of the shooters persevere and complete the course.
I hope everyone had a safe journey home and that your kit is gradually drying out.

    Cracking Pics again.

    Rob,

    Some great shots there mate,
    I just had a flashback to !!!!!!
" frozen fingers, soaked to the skin, unable to see through scope, wind blowing me over (whilst sitting), water in pellets, what a day!!!.
But still had a great time and thanks to my shooting partners a good laugh aswell.

    See you soon,

    Steve.

    It's a 1Ds III with a 70-200 f2.8

Generally I sit in AV mode, varying between f4 for side on to f8 for 3/4 shots. If I feel arty i'll drop to f2.8 or f4. I'm usually trying to hold 1/200-300th so i'll adjust ISO to suit that if i can.

Sometimes the 300 comes out to play, depending on where i'm shooting... and I might put a 1.4x on that. But a lot of the time the lanes are closely packed and it's too long.

OK I have got over Sunday now and I feel able to post the photos I took. I managed to get these before the rain took hold.

    Photos(click on slideshow)

It was a real shame the weather let us down on Sunday but I still think a lot of credit should go to all the Millride lads for the course they put on, Cheers guys.

    James

Enjoyed the other photos posted too, but are we getting stale? Should we have a comp for the most original shooting photo?

Good course, just 'kin abysmal weather! I thought it had been like that all day, but judging by Greg and your shots, at least the morning session saw sun! Looks like Craig was having a tough time of it, that's a rough run in anyone's book.

I would have liked to try a few angles out, but there was no way i was getting low n dirty there :D

Yep, i've already thought we should run a photo comp... i'll thrash out some criteria that isn't kit orientated.
