Each Dave !!
Techno do a superb set of practice targets for the Racks, got my chicken in the Garden.
Not laid many eggs but they dont eat much either
You need to come to Oaktree more often lol
Im one im one im one
A/ Cause you had to climb / Spring upwards onto 6 pallets to shoot
B/ The wind was 30+ mph and targets were in the open!
I once shot the sheabber multi shoot comp, forgot what title was but about 5 years ago? that was fun, but not attached to an Ft event as such.
It was one pallet Simon and the targets were all under 25yds I think. Was it cold and windy, yes. But it was cold and windy for everyone!
It was so cold, I had to pick the pellets out of my pellet pouch and load them by sight, as I couldn't feel them due to completely numb fingers.
i prefer to travel to gp,s and stay over the night before , reason for this is i personally think there is nothing worse than to travel 200+ miles, jump out the car with my shooting partner, run to the booking in desk ,then book in and run straight to the 50 target course and shoot it,,, i dont do it that way because its all rush rush rush, instead we travel the day before a comp, book a room and split the cost , go out and have a relaxing evening meal, then up early, take our time to travel the couple of miles to the shoot, book in, relax and have a bacon sarny and cup of tea, take a slow walk over to the plinking range only to find neil hague already there lol, check the zero and all equipment is working, then slowly over to the sillies and shoot them, then back to the car to top the air up on the rifle ready to start the comp, take a nice stroll around the course to check how awesime is getting on,then slowly walk back to the car and sit and relax again with the lads and talk about just how crap we are,,
thats it really, a weekend away with like minded people blowing away all the stresses of my family life and working week, FT to me has to be one of the best sports on the planet, enjoyable, relaxing, with great company and some welsh fellas that constantly have me crying with laughter when they shoot the wrong target,,,, sorry Mark i had to mate, i,m still wiping away the tears,
so there you have it, sillies, i think they are brilliant, i,m useless at them but the banter and the laugh we have shooting them gets me set for the comp on the day, most people i have spoken too about the sillies dont like them because its standing and too difficult except for the best of the shooters, some even feel intimidated to shoot them, why i dont know, to me its perfect standing practice before a comp which is another reason i only shoot pm sessions oh and because its usually more windy in the pm session ( popcorn ready ha ha )
what i think has made a few of us shoot the sillies is the chance to win a badge and pit yourself against the best in your league, there is nothing better than to finish top 3 in your respective lge and collect your badge and go and show it to John Mayer and say " eh av ya seen dis " lol,
for me i wouldnt do without the sillies
That's sounds lovely Bob if you have the expendable income, time and a understanding wife.
she knows who wears the pants in our household
yes " SHE " does lol
Just because you can’t shoot standers Mark
He doesn't pay for a room, he breaks into someone's house for the night, Eee duz doo dat doe.
Bet she pays for the elekkie too,
