Stop Press: Karl Clarke wins the BFTA Masters

On what was described as a perfect sunny wind free day at Newbury, Karl Clarke (aka Duckhunter69) won the title with 39 ex 40 having displaced Rob O'Neil in a shoot off.

I expect the full scores will make their way onto the BFTA site later.

Thanks to Andy Slade for the on the spot text report.

Tomorrow we'll have the showdown to report on, for me it looks like it's going to be uphill from the get-go, as I've drawn Neil Daneils to start with (MFTA winter league champion and 6th AA GP placed)

Karl did say to me a walther was on the way... i wonder if he's using it yet! :D

Either way we have Steyr, Walther, Air Arms, Zenith and Daystate in the top 10...

My comment to Rob about it being a sunny wind free day was a little tongue in cheek, as I knew Rob could not make the shoot today. Not a lot of wind, by newbury standards, but just enough to catch the unwary.:)

No wind eh! Well admitedly the scores don't suggest it but for the less talented amongst us there was a wind that when blowing would take sod all and when apparently still take you through the kill.

Still nice little course with a good variety to it and Newbury's scenary always makes trips there a pleasure.

    started that post before Andy's

Not just you. I had an email from Dave Cooling who said the same thing... enough there to make you want to come out, and then it did nothing. He said he hit one outside the kill.

Sounds like a nice shoot... wish i could have made it...:(
