I'm getting that nasty "first shot 6 inches low" syndrome with my AR5s indicating that the regulator isn't shutting off fully.

I can just get it serviced, but it's a bind getting it done every 18mths - 2 years. I know it'll cost more, but I'm thinking that a replacement reg may be a better bet..

Who does the best regulator for Rippers at the moment?

I had a dave welham reg put in my old ripley, it was superb.

Never had any issue with it at all.

I have a Nick Murphy that has been fettled by John Ostler in my AR5s. Found out he actually built my rifle when working at Ripley when I dropped it to him.

Was done about 2 years ago, changed all the o-rings to a wider temperature range set so its more consistant over the year. In fact I have never touched it since John set it to 770fps with JSB Exact. Been within +/-10fps of that over any of the BFTA Chronos at GP's.

Now if I could just get enough time to practise some more then I will be happy.

I had Shaun Hill at ISP fit new regs in my AR5s and AR4 they have been spot on since.
He is a Gent to deal with.
Posted the action off on monday and had it returned on Friday, at a very reasonable cost.
