If anyone has a barn door that they no longer need, can they freight it to Northampton for me please ?

I went to the club last night, and couldn't have hit one if I'd been inside the barn.
I tried falling out of bed last night, and I still didn't manage to hit the floor

If it goes on like this NJR & Holly are going to beat me on Sunday :eek:o

I'm going to Sywell for some sitting shooting lessons tomorrow morning (hopefully) with Len and Chris.
I just hope that they can sort me out.

You must of hit your head when you fell out out of bed?

otherwise you would not be hallucinating that Holly could be you.

me on the other Hand, I am Awesime:D

Ft is a hard shooting disapline.
Be realistic and set your goal at 20-25 hits (in the hill) on Sunday
If you miss a few in a row, see if your partners can shed light, but dont panic! There is an old saying, if in dought give it nowt. Stright down the middle.
Depends on what wind there is!

    I capitulate: in Awe :D :D

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense :)
The reason I'm missing the barn door is because I haven't been practicing. as I should.
Nose back to the grindstone tomorrow :D

Thanks for my BFTA Number, if that was down to you, BTW.

The only way you will ever hit a barn door from inside a barn if its actually closed!;)

    I much prefer 45 gallon drums myself.:D

I'm learning that nothing is to be taken for granted at Sywell.

(I must keep reminding myself "Simon is Awesime" ~ "Simon is Awesime" ~ "Simon is Awesime")

    A warm welcome.
With a sense of humour such as you obviously have, you'll fit in well here. :)

    Rangefinding

This morning, at Sywell, Chris very kindly and very patiently, helped me to set up a knockdown target and some paper ones too ~ then went through the process of accurately defining range with the objective bell of my AO Nikko scope. He explained about magnification and suggested several settings which would work well on my scope, then allowed me to range find and litter my scope with small white sticky labels with the correct range positions marked in ink upon them. I can't believe how far out the manufacturers marks are
(the actual 35yds is well past the 50yd dot on the bell)

Whilst he sat and repeatedly rang the bell target at 55 yds. :eek:o :)

Thank you Chris, once more. And I'm only relieved that you will not be at Bisley this weekend. BTW, I've ordered a Rowan single shot loader
Though I'm sure that everyone else will comprehensively splatter me anyway.
But now I look like a pro.
Because my scope has more little white stickers on it, than a geriatric after a shave with an open razor.

I have all day Saturday to stock up on provisions.

It was hot and clear here in Northampton today. And the first time Ive been on the Sywell FT range when there has been no wind. Ideal for setting up my scope.
And with some help from Paul (DOC admin) I've managed to release the obstruction in the bolt of my gun too.
So there'll be no stopping me by Sunday. Simon (ratiniator) has been PMing me advice and wisdom.
So I'm as prepared as I'm ever likely to be. :D

I feel like a gladiator about to enter the arena. "We who are about to .... etc etc  :)
