Yeah you can do this, voids anything guaranteed from Air Arms but once done you can adjust up and down with your Chrono but no it will never stay fixed because you can't control metal in hot and cold weather.

    Barry Taylor sorted mine out.

My local gunsmith has jigged up to remove AT from the 400 series. He's done so many it was worth the investment. It's a standard mod for many of our new club members. :)

When you've had it removed you could also cpmplain to the idiots who fitted it in the first place.

Fitting a system that stops you complying to the law is crass, to say the least.

Guess you are familiar to the fact that the home office gave airarms 2 options, they could fit anti tamper by choice or be told how to restrict guns and it would be some what policed ie home office crawling all over them

I am sure Ray will let you know the actual truth of the matter. ;)

Nice to see so many getting rid of their anti tamper and allowing themselves to comply with the law now.

Just about to remove the AT on another two of my rifles.

    :)

Don't think I believe that reason either Andy.

It does however make the majority of people return the gun to the manufacturer for expensive repairs.

I think that we should all remember though, that some shooters are not as responsible as club shooters and well informed shooters, that do keep their guns set up properly.

I quite agree Dean. :) A very, very small minority of irresponsible shooters might turn their power up, but that's their lookout just like a person who decides to break the speed limit in a car or bike. The manufacturers ain't bothered about that, they are bothered about protecting their responsibilities and that alone.

Anyway, sorry for going off topic folks.:)

What I am familiar with is that the above statement is totally untrue. I would love you to inform me where it came from.

What is true is that the FCC (Firearms Consultative Committee) set up a "Working Group" in 2003 to look at AT.
That working group were not members of the FCC.
When the FCC was disbanded in Jan 2004 that group from AMTA kept working independently, the only part of the FCC to do so.

Unfortunately when the Home Office was asked did they insist/threaten etc any manufacturer about the fitting of AT they said categorically that they did not. Just think, a Government Department setting up a system where a person could not comply with the law :D

Anyway if it was a "Home Office" requirement how come there is none fitted to Steyr, Walther, FWB or Anshutz.

    Ray.

As a further thought. Tony Belas of Daystate did make a statement that if anyone wanted a rifle from Daystate without AT fitted then they could order such a rifle. Funny that !
