Ive been asked if airsoft sniper rifles could be used for HFT? I assume this would not be allowed?

Well, they're not legal for FT because of the ammo, and i think for the same reasons they would be for HFT... i doubt they'd take a target down unless close, but even if they did ricochets would be a night mare forcing everyone to wear glasses at least... but im sure someone jump in with something catagoric.

Thanks Rob. I think the richocet is the main problem. There are some cracking looking airsoft rifles out there. Its a shame spring gun manufacturers couldnt make the odd L96 lookalike or at least sniper-ish lol.

I would have though a negative reason would be the mess they leave behind!

having been a sniper in a airsoft team i can honestly say they would be useless in any sort of target shooting my rifle was custom built it pushed out 490 -500 fps but as they only have a hop rubber and a smooth bore they aint very accurate , it may group at 40 - 50 mm at 25 yards but at 45 with wind even with a heavy bb would be impossible lol there good for man sized targets and thats about it .............. il stick with my steyr thanks lol :D

it would be interesting to see how much energy it still had at 45 yards can any1 calculate it ? a .20g bb at 500 fps ?

I wonder if some guns are like dogs, they seem to have something in common with their owners :D
