Hi All, Im sorting a lads weekend away in February for a few members from Ponti. We are going to the British Shooting Show and planning to stop overnight in a travel lodge before shooting a few rounds at a Local club the following day. I just wondered if anyone had any experience with taking guns into travel lodges as we dont cant leave them in the car overnight.. any horror stories of police raids in the middle of the night, advice or the legaleties of it. I am intending to contact travel lodge but thought I would try get a feel for what to expect and what others have done first..

    Cheers Simon

    Guns....run away....

    Hi Simon

Whilst travelling around the country to shoot national rounds in HFT and for the World Championships we regularly use Travellodges and Premier inns.
We have never had an issue but always check in first, then go back and get our guns in gun bags afterwards so we are not checking in with them.
We are usually staying where there are other shooters and have only ever heard of one person having an issue, that sounded like it was the employee on the desk who had an issue, not a company's policy.

    Regards
    Alex

Have used TL for years, never had a problem with kit. Only noisy guests shagging or fighting in the coridoors.(not shagging in the coridoor, but you get the picture). TL away from city centres are usually a quieter stay.

Not had any issues at either a Travel Lodge or Premier Inn.
Usually book in and then collect luggage. Rifle is in a bag that does not resemble a normal gunbag so gets no looks.

No probs with premier inn or travel lodges, used both large soleware bags and Peli cases.

Hello Dave, do you want to see my puppies?

I have to warn you though my puppies are a rare breed of siamese twins who bear a striking resemblance to a pair of hairy testicles, they like to be stroked.
