I have a used but new-to-me P70FT on the way next week. Regarding air cylinder expiration....do people just bin them after 10 years or can they be re-checked or tested in some manner? I see many guys using P70's in various FT and benchrest comps and now I'm wondering about cylinder age and theoretical and practical safety issues. I didn't factor in buying a new cylinder but perhaps I should have. Any experience or advice appreciated.

Never seen one checked. The only competition rule I know that that concerns cylinder life is in Issf. A lot of the early uk ones aren't even stamped with a date.

I always understood that anything below 500cc did not need testing(UK).
It would be good practice to inspect the internal walls and stress points on a service anyway.
