Thank You I shall look at getting some Kiln Dried Sand
Started by using a mixture of polystyrene Balls & Rice in the bags thinking I didn't want them too heavy but found the extra weight actually helps
My last rear bag (bought a couple of months ago) was filled with Cheap cat litter and as it had a lot of fairly fine stuff in there too it packed the bag pretty tightly
It took ages to fill and pack pretty tight into the Ears as has such a small opening, it does seem a lot more stable than the really cheap rear rest though
I am pretty new to Benchrest but I am still surprised how much a Really stable & solid rest can improve your scores, I used to drop lots of silly shots through movement on the indoor range but just spending 1-2 minutes making sure everything is solid & stable certainly seems to have helped push the scores up a bit,
That and being more consistent .... Sticking to the AADF's rather than keep switching between them & JSB's, Sitting myself more comfortably, slightly longer follow through (so I slow everything down just a tiny bit), Even sticking to the same Die if possible.
I have a basic set-up, Done pretty cheaply, Even when I use Bean Bags ..... Do I enjoy it?
    Oh yes.
Lots to learn and lots of bad habits to iron out. Even if I have a poor few cards I am still loving it and it gives me something to do that keeps me sane
    Kev :)

Your on the right track Kev, it's with the effort you put in, it is a pain filling and refilling bags but when you have it sorted it's worth it. Expirement with touching the gun as little as possible but it needs to be stable and have a wide forend and he'll to track to sit stable , good luck dude
