Just about to buy a set of adjustable mounts and would like to know if these damage scope ?

If clamps are installed and then adjusted, say windage. Will this twist/bend scope to acheive this, or does one float so to speak. I think a one piece would be better for scope but would cover loading port to much so Im stuck

Can anyone recommend anything or any do's and dont's

    Cheers

    Chris

    Sportsmatch are excellent.
I don't know exactly how to describe them in engineering terms but they can only move via adjustment screws when the locking bolts are slacked off.
The scope is perfectly safe unlike shimming where stress is imparted to the scope tube.

If anything adjustable mounts are kinder on scopes purely because both the mounts have full adjustment until they are locked up.
Traditional film under the rear mount will cause flexing as the front mount is still trying to pull the scope horizontal albeit by a small amount.
I've been using the Sportsmatch adjustable mounts for a while now and they are excellent.
