I've had this little short-action Ripley for a while now, and I'm wondering about it's history.

    I believe its a AR4 Shilouette: http://i662.photobucket.com/albums/uu350/pmb_01/Ripley AR4/IMAG0258_zps053b0c3d.jpg

Looking on the trigger block here: http://i662.photobucket.com/albums/uu350/pmb_01/Ripley AR4/IMAG0256_zps7950f03f.jpg it was made for Kate Lomgbottom in December '92.

And as she won the Worlds (Ladies) in '93 - I think there's a fair chance that this is the gun she used?

So, does anybody have pictures of the Worlds from 1993? Incase the gun she was using can be spotted?

Its just quite interesting really, as it was 20 year ago...

And yes, I know I have a woman's gun!

Had a quick search and I can't find any. Was the Women's class separate from the standard open that exists today? Someone must have a picture somewhere, and yes it would be nice if one existed showing her shooting this rifle during the Worlds in 93.

    Hiya,
I remember Kate from all those years ago :) and her Hubby Barry, He used to book me in for the European Open at Weston Park.
    Takes me back :D
As for the gun though...no clue sorry.

From what I can tell, the Ladies class began in 1992 and still continues.

There's even a Ladies spring class since 2012.

Here's the best resource I've found r.e. the Worlds over the years: http://www.freewebs.com/nftac/wftfhallofchampions.htm on the Norway site.

Would be nice if the BFTA site had some history and photos on there! :)

    Havn't been there since 1996 or 97 ? can't remember to be honest ?

I am sure someone will have pics though, and or remember some details.

If you do find any be sure to pop them up on here though.
    Be nice to see them.

    Stevie.
