toying with a refresh... we'll be jumping on the new system soon, which won't allow the current look...

want to make it a little less geeky looking... so new logo as well.

    what's people's feelings on this?

as ever, i'll be doing a few tweaks to keep the clutter as low as possible...

Prefer the current colour combinations to either of those.
    The white/red one if pushed.
    Not keen on the black.

Don't mind whatever you do as long as it works on my mobile phone. The new software on the Airgun BBS has screwed up the drop down lists for me and it makes navigation harder than before :(

this is one of the advantages of the new software, it's auto sensing for mobiles... :)

ok, having looked over the whole lot, there doesn't seem to be a good reason at the moment to jump up... there seems to be some issues with the new forum software that i'm not keen to take on at this moment in time.

however, i think the place could do with a refresh, it's coming up for 2.5 years and I don't want the place to sit still... although the new software makes making articles etc easier for the user, it's a headache to upgrade...

so, I can reskin the forum (but keep the old skin for you Pete ;))... we can have a fresh style (or perhap 2) to play with... and hopefully some little tweaks to make the thing run even smoother... and look more 2010 rather than 1910...

my main focus is keeping the place fast and quick and easy... i dont want style over content or usability...

    here's some choices....

    http://www.completevb.com/demo/index.php?styleid=16

    http://www.completevb.com/demo/index.php?styleid=28

    http://www.completevb.com/demo/index.php?styleid=46

    http://www.completevb.com/demo/index.php?styleid=47

    http://www.completevb.com/demo/index.php?styleid=48

    http://www.completevb.com/demo/index.php?styleid=49

i am leaning to the latter two...

any preference on it being the narrow or wide one (im sure it wont be a trick to have both)... i will make some visual tweaks, just to soften it on the eyes...

If you really have to the last one, but much prefer it as it is.

could we not have option, old or new?

You should be practicing your standers, not buggering round with something that Aint broke lol

I do agree with the aint broke dont fix it idea, being new to the forum myself have just about got used to it..... that said an overhaul would do no harm to make the site more up to date...... being devils advocate, I dont like either of the last 2, but do like the black and red (the first piccie on the thread)..... :D:D

Options would be good. You'll never please everybody with one skin. Since their vB4 update I've changed the default skin on AGBBS to the second one down and find it a huge improvement; much clearer.

Oh yes and I'd want narrow for the netbook and wide for the desktop! :D

The dark backgrounds are too tiring on the eyes, don't think you will beat what you have now! ;)

I like the site as it is, but dont mind if it's changed as long as the content is the same.
