I own a Leupold Prem boosted 18-40, and the standard 50ft adapter screws straight into the objective lens thread ( I know most...if not all of us have the flip up type) but I was wondering if had the adapter in my pocket, then only screwed it on for all distances under 16yds, which is what it focuses down to without the adapter, would this be legal. Or to turn it around...I could have the adapter screwed on my scope before starting (this way it is part of the starting kit) then took it off for anything over 16 yds. Thanks.

    Neil.

"Attachments are not allowed to be added or removed during the course of fire."

So buy a Butler Creek and fit the adaptor to it Neil.

Or you could tie it to your Leup with a piece of string. :D

Tie it with a piece of string to the rifle so it won't lose the connection with the rifle even if it's not on the scope
