Yesterday we held an HFT Open competition at our shooting range. The weather was very sunny as you can see for yourselves but the wind was howling like crazy. You can see this from the wind sock!

Here are a few pics I took during the competition with my mobile so don't excpect SLR quality pics :p

The guy shooting the EV2 will be shooting in next weeks HFT World at Kelmarsh so some of you might also meet him there.

    Enjoy! :)

Not sure about shooting against a rubber tyre!

But that wind flag looks mad... we make ours out of concrete and paint them :D

We were 9 shooters in all. I know it's not much but the airgun shooting community is small here in Malta and HFT is not as popular as FT so we always excpect a lower turnout at HFT shoots.

Top shooter scored a 56/60 with an HW100

The rubber tyres in the background were more than 60 yards away and the one resting near the target was over 35 yards away. With the wind we had yesterday there was no way any ricochet would have come any close to the shooter.

Are there anymore open shoots coming up? It'd be good to get some shooting done under the guise of a holiday!:D

This airgunning season started from November and will end in June. We had planned 3 HFT Open shoots and this was our third and final shoot unfortunately. Our next shoot will be a Spring Piston Class FT competition, as we always try to promote spring guns as much as possible since most beginers over here start with a springer and need to encourage them with these shoots, and it's also good training for the pcp guys as well. In May we will be shooting our FT Nationals which will qualify the shooters who will represent Malta in the Worlds in Hungary.

The dates of the new season are usually set and posted on our website just after the FT Worlds in October. Will keep you posted when the dates are decided.

In the mean time this is our club web site http://malta-maac.blogspot.com/
