Which ground is this being held please ,Kennel Copse or Weston Woods
Weston Woods. The big ground, not the usual club ground we used in the winter league
And we have lots to live up to after Sunday so the planning has begun
Will you want a hand Saturday?
Looking forward to it,I don't think I have shot Weston Woods before
damn im on holiday so wont be able to go to it
Thanks Rob, I will check with Glenn and Dee how we are set at the committee meeting on Sunday
Is this still the nearest post code - OX25 6NG. For that part of north oxon.
Just never been out of nefta shooting.
I've just put it on the forum's airgun club map... not sure of the postcode.
But I found this old link with some more info as well
You can also use http://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=51.856656,-1.215878
It is hard to find a postcode for a gate The Open-FT link is re-enabled pro-tem but the details there are for last year (2014). The 2015 Open date has been set but is not yet confirmed.
The old URL is not indexed, etc
So this isn't the place I've shot a few UKAHFT events at then? (back in 2006/7 ish times)
Weston woods is entered by a long track, and the main parking is about 1/4 mile in (a guess) and there is a couple of lodge type buildings next it, and that and the plinking range is on the right. It's novel features are shotgun stands and a tower for launching clays.
Keston is a much smaller ground, entered down a road which you park along, plinking range on left, range on right, 200yds into a field. The line is straight and at the far end there's an airfield. It's a smaller affair.
Which sounds familiar?
Nah - I don't think we started using Weston Woods for major comps until 08/09.
The home ground Kennel Copse is titchy by comparison, but was indeed used to host UKAHFT event(s) back around 06/07 time.
Ya found it on the club map. Than you robf.
Rob's description of Keston sounds more like what I remember.
Plinking across a small lane, main shoot just inside the edge of a woods with a straight firing line.
Haha, not that I remember how to get there, either way I'll get the sat nav to direct me so it doesn't really matter where it is really. I like shooting at new grounds though, always makes it more interesting.
Remember, booking in opens Saturday for all those going to the Classic...
Weston is interesting Brian. Big ground. It's got a big tower as well... but no downhill bits.
Booking is open on the BFTA Website peeps...
I don't suppose too many will notice until after the NEFTA Classic though.
I see your shooting with your twin again with the same name
