Love 'em or loathe 'em, they're now available for download from the BFTA site.
2011 BFTA Rules
I take it that there will be twentyfive marshalls+ the cheif marshall on the course at all times on a GP course then.
I see what you mean, if i have read the rules correct.
is that a new rule?
The old GP system which would appear to be the new system is that everone starts turning up to the shoot to book in at about 5am to get on first then you have marshalls 1 on each lane the remainding 150 shooters are sqaded in groups of ten, when they finnish they have 15 mins to return to the course to take over has a lane marshall the person on lane 25 sits there for about 3 hours before being replaced if you do not marshall you do not get a score so if you have a crap day you go home do not marshall and still get no score the system is pretty S**t at best it would appear that these rules where voted in for 2011 and MUST remain untill the next AGM.
Is a shotgun start no longer going to be used then ??
so the system that worked very well last yeay and previous is gone?
the rules have not changed with respect to the administration of the shoot.
which document are you reading?
Pete it states that there will be shotgun starts but it also states there will be a marshall on each lane not found anything that says anthing about buddy marshalling.
When is that to be used shaun?
Seems strange as it also says that
"when the first shooter reaches lane 8, then the remaining 10 marshals should be placed"
"When a shooter completes the course the last lane marshal must retain the scorecard"
Maybe the old lane marshalling document has been updated by mistake
Simon, as Steve said that used to be the way GPs were marshalled.
The rules for Lane Marshalling have been updated in Jan 2011 because Jono Noon is the new chair and his name goes on the bottom of them.
I have never known them used, but I'm only young!
I think that the new format for displaying the rules and regs is a lot better than before and perhaps people are noticing something because it has 2011 on it. The 2011 only refers to the fact that it was updated.
For the GP series only the previously discussed rules, high vis jackets and foot over the line have changed from last year.
BFTA Lane Marshalling Rules 2011
Nothing has changed regarding the marshalling from 2010.
The GP rules state that unless specifically mentioned in the GP rules (e.g. targets) the series will run to the Main Shoot rules.
Main shoot rule 5 ii:
The BFTA marshalling system shall be used on all BFTA events unless the BFTA rule otherwise or the particular event rules state an alternative marshalling system, e.g. Buddy.
This is no different from 2010.
Hi shaun the rules clearly read as above i know it might be MY interpritation BUT that is what it says in the rules which our sport is governed by and as MR Daniels says "There are rules you know"
Thank F for that!
i was about to start a panic
There is also shotgun start marshalling rules for 2011.
As Shaun has said, the lane marshalling rules have been updated to reflect the change in Chairman.
I had to blow the dust of the old ones to read them...
Are, but cant we just ignore that rule as many were doing with the foot over the line rule last year
So when would lane marshelling be used?
I suggest you burn them.
Dunno, but we've got 'em if we ever need 'em.
Burn them, they sound silly
