As much as I take the piss out of Daystate I must admit they have come up with some reasonably good looking guns and innovative ideas over recent years. When they released the Mk4 GP I questioned the price but when they do what they should do I guess the £1760 price tag could be justified, similar with the Platinum...however I've just seen the latest Daystate "LE" gun and really did have to do a double take at the price tag..1100quid for a Huntsman with a nice bit of wood, titanium plated breech and, apparently, a "match" grade Walther barrel:eek::eek: I've tried to get my head around it and fail to see whats trying to be acheived in this instance. Yes the wood looks nice, the breech is a matter of personal taste and the barrel? will it really make any real world difference over the ranges we shoot at?? I've seen it before with the likes of the Timberwolf, Merlyn, etc...first response is "Ooooh shiny shiny, I want" the second response is "Meh" and the third is "I'm struggling to shift it in the for sale section because its a lot of money for what it is..." Anyone else think similar?? or have I got my cynical head on today:eek::eek:

If I were buying new today, it would be Ev2 at around £900-950??

Seems a bargain compared to the rest?

You are just a cynical STEYER TART:p Each to there own I say, would I have ever bought a Daystate if I had not won one probably not because I ain't got that kind of money, but would I swap my Mk 3 for any other rifle and the answer is NO. The Mk 3 has helped my shooting come on and has been responsible for a couple of extra points over the last year. I don't think looks are as important as handling when it comes down to it you need the rifle to shoot well more than look well (thats why i have painted mine a nice gay colour) but at the end of the day if I had the funds I would have one of the new Daystates, why because I like them simples:D

Well...has anyone noticed the upward creep in prices for most airguns nowadays ? am talking about the quality kit stuff...just a few percentage points starts adding up to the next rounded '00 hundreds of quid , or possibly 1 K mark ..LOL !

Is that what the other manufacturers are trying to achieve in these economic times ? ie: Hit the 1K mark ? (OK, some are now well over it- ISP, Ripley, Steyr, Walther etc..)

...like you, am wondering what the Retail price in the UK will be for the Walther/Hammerli AR20FT, when we all know what its going for in Germany.

There are plenty taking a hit to the wallet for an ownership lasting some time from 3 to 6 months, then advertising the gun on BBS with a 30% to 40% knockdown price.

ie: The advertised price Ive seen for the new HW100 retail at 960quid  any takers ?

Ripleys, ISPs, Walthers, Steyrs, are in large part keepers.

Ans., and Fwb - to some degree

The bread & butter PCP guns I constantly see offered are (in no priority): Air Arms, HW, DayState, BSA.

Anyhow, thats the trend, and Its unfortunately directly related to costs (ie: Price per tonne of Alu. + cost of manufacturing+ Labour + other misc. costs, etc...+ VAT ...:(

In 10 years time, I think we will all be laughing and reminiscing at the good ol'times what airguns cost in 2010.

I suppose then they are bloody bargains a these current price levels ??? ...so perhaps 'get them while you can' ? ! :D

I think Daystate are doing the same as the car makers. using stuff from assorted parts bins, painting them a different colour, giving it a catchy name and hiking up the price :)
